The Cameroon Baseball and Softball Federation has organized a couple of softball and baseball tournaments this fall. They commenced in mid-October and will be concluded with the finals in early December.

Francoise Kameni Lele, Vice President of Baseball and Softball Federation of Cameroon and a member of International Softball Federation’s Task Force was the guest of honor at the luncheon jointly hosted by the officials of Baseball Federation of Japan and Japan Softball Association in Tokyo on September 24, 2012. She was former Treasurer of African Baseball and Softball Association.

Jupiter, Florida. The Friday evening game at the World Baseball Classic Qualifier in Jupiter, Florida between France and South Africa is in overtime. With the score tied at 2-2 in the tenth inning, the game was suspended due to rain seven hours after the original scheduled starting time.

The lone African participant in the event is now one loss away from being ousted from the double-elimination competition.

The highlights of a 6-day baseball clinic that was conducted in Ibadan (Nigeria) are the Awards given to 6 sports personalities who contributed to organization, promotions, sponsorship and overall success of the baseball clinic that was facilitated by coach Gerard Hall and coach Charles Barbee from the United States.

The much awaited baseball Coaching Clinic organised by the Nigerian Baseball and Softball Association (NBSA) and promoted by Peace Hospice in Chicago (USA) took off on 3rd of july, 2012 at “Adamsingba” Stadium Complex Ibadan and will run for 6 days. The major event is supported by the Oyo State government through the dynamic commissioner for sports Dapo Lam Adesina, the National Sports Commision, stakeholders from different parts of the country.

Ronke Champion-Adeyemi of Peace Hospice & Palliative Care Chicago (Illinois) in the United States, has donated new baseballequipment to the Nigerian Baseball and Softball Association, NBSA). The equipment includes balls, bats, gloves, helmet, catchers’ mitt and sets of catchers’ equipment, all enough to strengthen 4 baseball teams.

In response to the call of The Association for Friends of African Baseball (AFAB), a non-profit organization certified by the Japanese Government, Baseball Federation of Japan and its affiliates as well as many individuals in Japan are sending donations of baseball equipment to AFAB in Tokyo who will send them to Tanzania in June, 2012.

Team Canada’s first game at the 2011 Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA was scheduled to be against Team Uganda. But just before last summer’s tournament, the African nation’s teenaged players were denied entry-visas into the United States.

The official countdown to the ISF XIII Men’s World Championship begins in earnest with the one-year-to-go milestone celebrated in Auckland today.
